A MAN was killed while 14 others were injured in separate road accidents in the cities of Bago and Bacolod in the past two days.
In Bago, a motorcycle driver died while his two companions sustained injuries after they hit a waiting shed along the national highway of Rafael Salas Drive in Barangay Lag-asan on Thursday.
Police identified the fatality as Jason Servania, 26, of Purok Mantabid, Barangay Mabini, Valladolid town. Injured were Arwin Sebido, 18, of Valladolid town and Warren Pagsuguiron, 34, of Bago City.
Investigation showed that a motorcycle without plate number crashed into a waiting shed in front of Bago City Police Station around 11:30 p.m.
Servania sustained head injuries that caused his death while Sebido and Pagsuguiron were treated at a hospital.
In Bacolod, 12 persons were injured in a multiple collision involving a Ceres Liner bus, two private vehicles, and a passenger jeepney at Bangga Crossing 8, Barangay Tangub around 6:20 p.m. Friday.
Investigation showed that bus driver Jose Tomasar lost control over the vehicle and hit a Mitsubishi Adventure. It also hit a Suzuki Carry and a passenger jeepney that caused injury to a fish vendor standing beside the road.
Marlyn Daypal was brought to Bacolod Adventist Medical Center while the other victims, who sustained minor injuries, were brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Tomasar is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8.
Police Officer 2 Jose Marie de la Paz, traffic investigator of Police Station 8, said a representative from Vallacar Transit Inc. coordinated with them for possible settlement with the victims.
Representatives of the bus company also visited the victims at the hospital, De la Paz added.
