11 coeds vying for MassKara Queen title

ELEVEN coeds are vying for this year’s MassKara Queen title during the pageant finals set October 15, 4 p.m., at the STI West Negros University gym.

The candidates are Qliczyll Claire Castino of Bacolod City College, Marie Frances Araneta of La Consolacion College-Bacolod, Dessa Jane Dangallo of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Janine Pearl Casilao of VMA Global College, Maria Angela Clarisse Estioko of Riverside College, Valerie Escamilla of John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod, Erika Joille Patayon of Negros Occidental High School, Lyka Jingco Legaspi of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Alijis, Georgia Melissa Teddy Dacules of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, Ancella Denise Anne Pastias of STI West Negros University, and Pink Erica Eirene Genolos of CHMSC-Talisay.

The prejudging of question and answer portion was held at the Business Inn hotel Saturday.

This year’s pageant, with the tagline "For the Students. By the Students. Kara Estudyante," is organized by the Association of Colleges and Universities of Negros Occidental (Acuno) headed by DitasJoson of the LCC-Bacolod Graduate School.

Joson said the pageant aims to reinvent, and add more student participation to the iconic search for Bacolod's Ambassadress of Goodwill.

The candidates, aged 16 to 23, were endorsed by the schools with

the requirements of beauty and brains.

“The candidates have not joined major beauty competitions outside of their school or other interschool events to make sure that MQ 2016 will have the freshest and rawest of talents,” Joson said.

The prejudging of talents will be staged on October 8 at Robinsons Place fountain area. On October 9, the prejudging for swimsuit competition will be held at Palmas Del Mar poolside area.
