11 persons nabbed in Cebu drug busts

ELEVEN suspected drug personalities were caught by an anti-narcotics unit in separate drug busts in the villages of Calamba and Mambaling, Cebu City, on Friday morning, May 26.

Some 480 grams of white crystals believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1.3 million were seized by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas operatives.

At 5:30 a.m., PDEA arrested its target, the suspected drug pusher Jose Regan Abayan, 31, in Alaska Mambaling.

Suspected users Steve Villeno, 29; his sister and Abayan's live-in partner Michelle Villeno, 26; mother Margie Villeno, 49; and Cyril Jamar, 26, were caught in the drug den.

The operatives seized 300 grams of suspected shabu worth P840,000 from them.

In A. Lopez St., Calamba, at 8 a.m., drug den maintainer Mary Grace Cuizon, 25, was captured along with her alleged customers Josue Jaca, 41; Jennifer Jaca, 38; Crisaldo Laurencian, 33; Ian Banzon, 20; and Eugene Escarlan, 45.

A total of 180 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P504,000 were taken from them. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
