IÑIGO Anton bucked the inclement weather and made another run for the crown.
Anton of Castrol-Yokohama, made history during the 4th Round of the Fuel-Touge Battle Series at the rain drenched Tarlac Racing Circuit recently.
At 12-years-old, Anton became the youngest racer to win the Touge Hot Lap best time of the day award along with a first place finish in the race car division.
Anton, on board a 197 horsepower, Mark Young-Mohspeed prepared Honda EF dominated the qualifying sessions and was the top seed for the day.
Inspired by his earlier performance, Anton then backed it up by winning the knock out stage to arrange a championship duel against veteran JC Baguisa.
Baguisa made it to the finals by knocking out slalom champion Peckto Pakutkut during the semifinals round.
Anton quickly won the first battle pulling away from Baguisa and followed it up by chasing Baguisa down during the second run where the young ward started from behind.
“I feel so good winning both battles in the final round. I struggled with the slippery conditions when my tires were cold but luckily I held on for the win,” the young Anton said.
Anton is backed by Castrol, Yokohama, Kart Plaza, Kilton, Works Bell, Ross Jackes, JSD Autosport, and Special Stage.
“Inigo continues to break barriers with every race he joins. His car control at this early stage is phenomenal,” multiple racing champion Carlos Anton said of his son. (Roderick Osis)
