THIRTEEN people, including three children, were injured in a road accident along Zamobanga City highway, the police said.
The accident occurred around 1:36 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Sitio Malasugat in the village of Sangali, the police reported.
The victims were identified as Michael Alejandro, 45, driver; Nelson Manalo, 43; Sabri Innang, 33; Arnel Paragas, 23; Georgina Gonzales, 60; Mary Chris Luciano, 28; Cristeta Ramillano, 56; Albaina Janauddin, 17; Angelita Adding, 48; Antonio Panes, 48; Karen Leogan, 11; Fatimae Ramillano, 10; and, Monica Panes, 5.
The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigation showed that the passenger van turned upside down after Alejandro lost control of the steering wheel when the vehicle's break conked out.
The van was traveling from Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay to Zamboanga City. <(VoxPop Philippines)
