SANTA RITA -- Vice Mayor Dexter David and Councilor Fritzie David-Dizon led the distribution of educational financial assistance to 150 Poraqueño beneficiaries at Becuran High School in Santa Rita town on Tuesday, February 20.
The scholars are part of the number identified by the Municipal Government under its institutionalized assistance program.
Recently, the town officials distributed the assistance for Porac National High School. The program is expected to cover more students from the town as government officials are set to increase the allocation next year.
David said the financial assistance program aims to help indigents with their tuition. He said it is enough to inspire the students to pursue their studies.
He said it is the responsibility of not just the parents to send their children to school but also of the whole community.
The students are encouraged to maintain a certain grade average to maintain membership in the program. This in turn ensures that the students become more determined to see their studies through.
"The local government could only do too little. This is why we encourage those who get government support to make the best of what they get from government," David added.
