SIXTEEN individuals cheated death after a jeepney they were riding lost its brake while traversing a road in Natonin, Mountain Province, Tuesday morning, July 25.
Police said the accident transpired in Sitio Mangnao, Barangay Saliok, Natonin. Involved was a private jeepney with plate number DSX FI8 driven by Celso Bagyan, 39, a resident of Loo, Buguias, Benguet.
Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle was traversing the road toward Paracelis when it lost its brake and fell on the right side of the road.
Injured were Noli Macario Liwag, 32, from Data, Sabangan, Mt. Province; Junison Lupingay Dangpa, Julius Dagines Paleng, Meriam Langpawan, Marvin Abil Vilog, Jason Lupingay Dangpa, Brenda Bagyan, Samuel Benito, Samuel Bekigan, Sonita Dangpa, Edmard Aggang, Remy Dolores, Arlyn Dolores, and Sheila Bilao, all from Banuoy, Buguias, Benguet; and Dan Focasan, 25, from
Tonglayan, Natonin, Mt. Province.
The injured passengers were brought to hospitals, but were later released after undergoing medical treatment. (Roderick Osis)
