A TOTAL of 164 e-tricycles have been impounded at the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) inside the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters since June.

These were placed under the custody of BTAO after the drivers were caught using it on national roads, which is considered a traffic violation.

Drivers and owners will have to pay a fine of P100 to get their e-trikes.

Renato Novero, head of Land Transportation Office-Bacolod, said in a television interview, the owners should have it registered with LTO if used for commercial purposes.

Superintendent Luisito Acebuche, head of BTAO, reminded e-tricycle owners to abide with the traffic law to avoid being penalized.
