ONE hundred sixty-eight applicants were hired on the spot while 987 other have qualified in the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival Jobs Fair held last October 20 in Zamboanga City.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said that nine of the 168 applicants hired on the spot are for overseas employment.
They have left for Manila on Wednesday, October 25, on their way to their designated workplaces abroad.
Others are for deployment locally including other cities and provinces.
Positions for those hired were nurses, engineers, call center agents, sales associates, promodizers, and cleaners among others.
Salazar said records from the Public Employment Service Office (Peso) also showed that a total of 1,960 applicants have registered and were interviewed during the Hermosa Jobs Fair.
The Hermosa Jobs Fair, an annual event held as part of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival, was participated by some 36 recruitment agencies and was held on October 20 at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga.
It was a joint undertaking of the Peso-City Social Welfare and Development Office, Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Agency, KCC Mall and other agencies. (VoxPop Philippines)
