EIGHTEEN policemen under the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Western Visayas were dismissed from the service last year, records showed.
Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, spokesperson of PRO-Western Visayas, said on Tuesday, January 23, that these were police officers who had administrative cases for the offenses they have committed.
Records also showed that 19 policemen were suspended, six were demoted, two had forfeited salaries, and one had withheld privilege.
Those with dismissed cases reached 36.
PRO-Western Visayas also received 96 administrative cases in 2017. Of which 62 have been resolved while the remaining 34 are pending.
As of January 2018, the regional office received complaints against 19 policeman from Iloilo Provincial Police Office and one from Bacolod City Police Office for neglect of duty and less grave misconduct.
The 19 policemen are undergoing pre-charge investigation.
Gorero said that these policemen were subject of the complaint since last year and are facing investigation until now.
He added that they are continuously tracking down erring policemen as they do not tolerate wrongdoings.
PRO-Western Visayas gives emphasis on individuals and organizational discipline, he said.
