A TOTAL of 18 persons were arrested by various units under Police Regional Office-18 for possession of illegal drugs and illegal firearms in the past three days.
These include nine for drugs and two with firearms and ammunition.
In Negros Occidental, the ninth drug personality under the watchlist of Valladolid Municipal Police Station was collared by virtue of search warrant issued by Judge Frances Guanzon of Regional Trial Court Branch 62 in Bago City on September 14.
Rene Pelingon, 35, of Purok Mainuswagon, Barangay Bagumbayan, yielded a sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and drug paraphernalia during the operation.
In San Carlos City, Danilo Mori, 50, who is under the street level target drugs list, was arrested on September 14 for sale and possession of illegal drugs.
Mori yielded five sachets of shabu weighing 0.732 grams with an estimated value of P7,920, drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.
Windell Quimod, 32, of Sitio Palanas, Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City was apprehended in a checkpoint at crossing Timis, Barangay General Luna in Toboso town on September 14 after he was caught with four sachets of shabu.
Also arrested in a checkpoint at Purok Paco Beach, Barangay Zone 1-A, Pulupandan town on the same day were Kevin Dioso, 23 and Marites Singuelas, 41. Both yielded two sachets of shabu and P245 cash.
In Bacolod City, Ernesto Cordova and Raymund Guzon were arrested in a buy-bust at Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8 on September 14 by
joint operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) and Police Station 2.
They yielded three sachets of shabu, P90 cash, and the P200 marked money.
In Murcia town, Stephanie Duadores, 29, of Bacolod City and Romeo Jayme Jr., 46, of Murcia town, were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Zone 5 on September 15.
Police recovered from them three sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
On the same day, Ronald Fernando Reyes, 23, of Villa Luisa, Barangay Luna, Cadiz City, was arrested in a raid at his house. Police seized four sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the P200 marked money.
Personnel of Sagay City Police Station conducted a drug bust against Woddy Barrido, 44 at Purok Bangkusay, Barangay Poblacion 2. They recovered two sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money.
Also on Thursday, four persons were arrested in separate drug bust in Bacolod City.
Personnel of Police Station 4 arrested Analie de Asis, 45 and Erica Pallan, 29 that led to the recovery of two sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, P990 cash, and the P300 marked money.
Richard Lunares, 26, of Purok Marapara, Barangay Banago was arrested after he sold a shabu to a police agent.
Police also arrested Romeo Val Pagaduan, 22, of Zone 2, Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang-Airport after police seized from him two sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia, P300 cash, and the P300 marked money.
Over at Negros Oriental on Thursday, Ric Lawrence Bayola, 20, of Barangay Mabigo was collared by police after he yielded two sachets of shabu, P40 cash, and the P300 marked money.
Bienvenido Otor Dilena of Barangay Combado, Bacong town was arrested in a buy-bust on September 15, after he yielded four sachets of shabu and the P500 marked money.
Loose firearms
A man was arrested in an entrapment operation after he allegedly extorted money and threatened a public school teacher at Barangay Caradio-an Proper, Himamaylan City on September 14.
Police identified the suspect as Frankie Madriaga, 44, of Barangay 4.
Police records showed that Madriaga extorted P3,000 from the teacher, whose name is being withheld, and threatened her at gunpoint.
Madriaga also threatened the police when he resisted arrest.
Police recovered from Madriaga a homemade .45 caliber pistol loaded with a magazine and seven live cartridges.
In Negros Oriental, Genevene Gigataras was collared when police raided his house at Mabinay town on September 15 by virtue of a search warrant.
Police recovered from Gigataras four sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P20,000 and drug paraphernalia.
Also recovered from him were a .9mm Ingram M2 with homemade sound compressor with two magazines of M16 rifle, two short magazines of M16 rifle, 82 live ammunition of 5.56 caliber, assorted cartridges of .9mm caliber and 5.56 caliber.
