TWO were arrested on Friday after they were caught in possession of firearms and illegal drugs in a checkpoint in Lasang, Davao City.
Task Force Davao Commander Colonel Nolasco Mempin said that at 8:40 p.m. on Friday that Cafgu Active Auxillary Almer Vilando found a loaded .45 pistol with silencer, .02 milligrams of suspected marijuana, and a foil believed to be containing shabu while conducting an inspection inside their vehicle.
The suspects were identified as Nelson Guipo, 20, and Felemor Lamocha, 25, both residents of R. Castillo St., Agdao District, Davao City. They were onboard a Toyota Vios bearing plate number AKA 7930.
The suspects and items recovered were turned over to Police Chief Inspector PCI Estrello Ramiso of Bunawan Police Station for the proper profiling and conduct of further investigation on the whereabouts of the suspects.
The PNP will be filing charges for violation of the Republic Act (RA) 10591 or the illegal possession of firearms and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act.
