TWO persons were arrested for allegedly claiming that they were winners of a swertres (a numbers game) draw, by presenting false stubs in Compostela town, Cebu, on Monday, August 28.
Police identified the arrested as Lolito Nilo Paje, 52, and Mercy Cabal, 84.
Investigation showed that the two claimed they won the 11 a.m. draw, betting the right combination of "275."
Paje and Cabal allegedly forced to claim the winnings from a small-town lottery outlet.
The usher reviewed they bets, but found no bets from the suspects before the draw happened.
Paje and Cabal, before the draw, asked for blank stubs and returned after the draw.
