TWO British companies have expanded in Davao City following the British Chamber Commerce Philippines (BCCP)-organized Trade and Investment Mission in March this year.
BCCP executive chairman Chris Nelson, during his message at the Davao Investment Conference 2017 Friday, July 21, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, this city, said Seagard and YLF Contracts and Cost Solutions have set up offices here around a month or two after the trade mission.
Seagard provides monitoring services for damage prevention of marine assets. According to the company's website, the software they use, which is supported by AIS data, can visualize all shipping activities near a clients’ asset.
"By creating protection zones around the asset we can monitor marine activity and reduce the associated risks. Our specifically designed algorithms will alert our monitoring team when vessels are showing behaviour which could impact our clients’ asset and the vessel concerned," the comapany said.
The YLF Contracts and Cost Solutions is a "quantity surveying company that is offering expert services in construction procurement, management and construction costing services."
Nelson said aside from the two British companies who have invested in Davao City, seven other companies are also eyeing to expand in Davao City and are in various stages of discussions.
The seven companies are coming from different sectors like energy, financial services, and agribusiness.
