TWO suspected pushers were caught on Thursday night, February 15, in a series of drug busts in Liloan, Cebu.
Chief Inspector Randy Korret, the town police commander, identified the suspects as Jefferson "Doyok" Igido Tagalog, 31, and Edu Ambil Bonghanoy, 31.
Seized from the suspects were 24 packs of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu.”
The contraband is worth P19,500, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.
Tagalog was caught by the anti-narcotics operatives led by Inspector Mikhail Mallorca at 7:45 p.m. in Sitio San Antonio, Barangay Jubay. At 9 p.m., Bonghanoy was captured in Sitio Colorado Dos, Jubay.
Operatives also confiscated two marked P500 bills used in the drug busts and P1,500 in different denominations believed to be the suspects' proceeds in their illegal activities.
Korret said both suspects did not finish high school and are jobless. Investigators are identifying the suppliers of the suspects.
Suspects will be facing complaints for violating the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which sets no bail for persons caught selling illegal drugs. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
