TWO houses were damaged Wednesday morning, December 6, after a landslide occurred at a hilly part of Purok 16 Tigatto, Buhangin District.
Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) operation officer Rodrigo Bustillo said that they have advised forced evacuation to about 26 families in the landslide affected area.
"There are two houses partially damaged after being hit by the landslide debris," he siad.
He added that the landslide happened around 6:55 a.m., this after a heavy downpour in the previous evening.
Bustillo said that the landslide occurred in a sloped part of the barangay that supports the road going to Mandug.
"So far we have not recorded any casualty or injured people," he added.
He said that based on the monitoring with the responders, the barangay has already established an evacuation area near the landslide affected area.
He said that the residents in the area, prior to the incident, have been warned that the area is landslide-prone.
