TWO persons belonging to the Alcala clan of Quezon were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday in Sariaya, Quezon.
In a report, the Quezon Police Provincial Office said siblings Sahjid and Cerolliriz Alcala were arrested along with four other suspects identified as Joel Lambit, Noel Gabriel Abutin, Dona May Abastillas and Yumiko Angela Tan, in a buy-bust operation at the Wood Lanes Estates Phase 2 in Barangay Balubal at around 2:30 am.
Recovered from the suspects were 62.30 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and several drug paraphernalia.
Sahjid and Cerolliriz are sons of Athel Alcala, the brother of former Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala. Athel had earlier turned himself to the authorities and admitted involvement in the illegal drugs.
On September 11, Athel's wife Maria Fe and daughter Toni Ann were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Tayabas City, also in the same province. (Sunnex)
