TWO police stations in Bacolod City received commendations on February 12 for their accomplishments in the campaign against illegal gambling and illegal drugs.
Commended for anti-illegal gambling operation was Police Station 8 led by Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag after the arrest of Rodel Mande, 31, of Barangay Tacuing, a member of Civilian Active Auxiliary of the Philippine Army, in Purok Mars, Barangay Singcang-Airport, last January 31.
The operation led to the recovery of two tipsters, betting stub, a .45 caliber with six ammunition, and P260 in cash.
A commendation was also given to Police Station 7 headed by Senior Inspector Ramel Sarona for the drug bust operation against four residents of Barangay Mansilingan that resulted in the confiscation of eight sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 1.786 grams, a .45 caliber, three live ammunition, lighter, improvised tooter, and P500 marked money.
The awarding rites led by Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, officer-in-charge of Bacolod City Police Office, was held at the headquarters during the flag-raising ceremony on February 12. (GYM/VoxPop Bacolod)
