TWO police units in the region have bagged awards for the 22nd Police Community Relations (PCR) Month Celebration.
The Iligan City Police Office has been named the Outstanding City Police Office nationwide while the Gingoog City Police Station was given the Outstanding City Police Station award.
"They applied for this award and they won and achieved all the necessary requirements, such as their unit's major accomplishments," Police Superintendent Lemuel Gonda said, police regional spokesperson.
"Iligan and Gingoog get the best support from their local government units, so this is also one of the important factor to win these awards," Gonda added.
The rest of the awardees include Police Regional Office 5 as the outstanding regional office, Sorsogon police as the Outstanding Police Provincial Office, and Calasiao police in Pangasinan as the Outstanding Municipal Police Station.
The awardees and heads of winning units, with their regional director, will receive their respective awards during the culmination of the 22nd Police Community Relations month this July 31 at Camp Crame.
Presidential Proclamation No. 764, signed on January 24, 2005, declares the month of July every year as Police Community Relations Month.
The PCR Month celebration aims to develop closer interaction between the police and the community in handling peace and order concerns.
