THE two suspected members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) arrested in Negros Occidental last week were transferred to the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
This was confirmed on Monday by Chief Inspector Teodoro Santos, head of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Negros Occidental.
Aurora “Lilay” Cayon and Louie Antonio Martinez are facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and illegal explosives after they yielded a .45 caliber with magazine loaded with live ammunition and a hand grenade during their apprehension at Barangay Poblacion, Kabankalan City last October 19 by virtue of arrest warrants.
Cayon has an arrest warrant for robbery with violence or intimidation of person and arson while Martinez, for murder and multiple attempted murder.
Santos said they decided to transfer both suspects to the PNP national headquarters for security reasons.
Cayon, a staff member of the National Finance Commission and CPP-NPA, is believed to be from Mindanao because of her previous positions in the regional committees while Martinez is a national military staff.
The Philippine Army continues to investigate their presence in the province.
