2 wanted persons nabbed in Liloan, Compostela towns

TWO wanted persons with pending cases in courts were caught on Wednesday, January 24, in towns of Liloan and Compostela, Cebu.

At 8:30 a.m., Edison Floro Placencia, 27, was arrested in Barangay Poblacion by a joint tracker team of Liloan Police Station and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Central Visayas.

Chief Inspector Randy Korret, the town police commander, said they implemented the warrant of arrest issued by Mandaue City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 9 Judge Alexander N.V. Acosta.

Placencia is facing a case for allegedly violating Republic Act (RA) 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

In Sitio Bugho, Barangay Bagalnga, Compostela, a joint team of Liloan Police Station and Provincial Mobile Force Company caught Beverlie Bentulan Mediana, 33.

Mediana is facing a case of violating RA 9287, a law that penalizes illegal gambling activities.

Placencia and Mediana will be presented to RTC Branch 9. Both offenses are bailable. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
