OVER 200 children from two different organizations will have an educational trip at Davao City Police Office (DCPO), Camp Domingo Leonor in Davao City Friday, October 28.
DCPO spokesperson Senior Inspector Catherine dela Rey said at least 150 children from the Solid Rock Student Center Program of the Davao City Alliance Gospel Church and 60 others from SOS Children’s Village Davao will visit the office.
Dela Rey said participants from the Solid Rock Student Center Program are set to visit the DCPO at about 11 a.m. while the SOS Children’s Village Davao is set to visit at 3:30 p.m.
"The Davao City Police Office will showcase, for the first time, our different types of uniform to them so these children will be able to recognize who are the members of the Philippine National Police na malalapitan," dela Rey said.
Dela Rey also said that every office under DCPO will explain its duties and functions, and role as police, to the children.
The Solid Rock Student Center Program aims to let the 150 children aged three years old to 11 years old identify the important units of the community for them to appreciate the beauty of the city by helping in maintaining cleanliness in their simple way.
Meanwhile, the SOS Children’s Village Davao intends to let the 60 people aged 15 to 23 foster a sense of teamwork, collaboration, commitment, candor and constructive dialogue among them.
