OVER 200 stakeholders confirmed to attend the Regional Youth Advocacy Council (Ryac) National Convention set on March 22 and 23 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel in Davao City.
The event, organized by the National Youth Commission (NYC), aims to harmonize efforts of various agencies in delivering services for the youth.
Expected guests are Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy, and NYC officials led by Chairperson Aiza Seguerra.
“NYC instituted the Ryac as a coordinating body to localize policies and monitor program implementation at the local level,” the press statement read.
NYC will gather all the youth-serving members-agencies across the nation geared to strengthen partnership in order to come up with programs that will complement the issues that confront the Filipino youth and localization of policies in building advocacy initiatives to take centerstage the welfare of the youth.
The youth, considered as one of the vulnerable sector of the society, will be championed to step up mechanisms on how to address their needs.
“The convention aims to synchronize youth programs and generate with a strategic plan of action for Calendar Year 2016 in relation to the NYC’s major thrust: Youth Organization Registration Program, Youth Hub and Youth Fair as well as SK (Youth Council) elections,” it added.
