THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) recorded a total of 254 wanted personalities who were apprehended in the first quarter of the year during their simultaneous operation, formerly called as Oplan Bulabog and now dubbed as Oplan Kalinaw or the joint Area Security, Community Service and Protection Operation Plan.
DCPO director Alexander Tagum said that their comprehensive regular activity, which includes manhunt operations against fugitives who have standing warrants of arrest for various criminal cases, earned positive results.
Senior Superintendent Tagum said that the conduct of their campaign plan has been effective in arresting personalities who have been hiding from authorities with an average of 15 wanted individuals arrested per operation.
Earlier operation last Wednesday resulted to the arrest of Rasulo P. Inso Jr., Mernel S. Cataquil and Virgil I. Sabarre for robbery with violence against person; Solamo Edgar Balanay for violation of Section 11 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act; Dave John Batuon for RA 9287 violation; Carlito Tipait Linasa for PD 449; Junmar Bajao Loon for PD 1602; Anthony Roxas Luna for PD 449; Bryan Laguna Solis for PD 449. Also apprehended were Randy Navarro Ricalido for violation of Section 261 of Omnibus Election Code (Liquor Ban); Quegie Mantos Asna for theft; Creselda Cerin for BP22; Kathleen Dominique T. Aliño for SSS Law; George Verano for murder; Vincent Villapaz Morales for reckless imprudence resulting to serious physical injuries and damage to property and Eva Jeolin for PD 1602.
With the new and improved operation under Oplan Kalinaw, their police operation does not only go after criminals and suspected terrorists lairing in urban communities through background checking and profiling of individuals but they also conduct various community services community outreach/free medical check-up and giving of medicines and vitamins, and community empowerment through crime prevention education, and community service and protection operations.
It was launched in coordination with local security forces and law enforcement units led by DCPO with Task Force Davao (TFD), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB 11), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG 11), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU 11), National Intelligence ad Coordinating Agency (NICA 11), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP 11), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG 11) and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU 11).
