THREE illegal traders of butane products were caught at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1, in Sitio Duncar in Barangay Dunggoan, Danao City, Cebu.
Superintendent Jaime Quiocho Jr., the city police chief, identified the suspects as Jose Marlito Alvarez Mandolado, 53; Benancio Guzman Balansag, 31; and Sabiniano Banagasa, 53.
Seized from them were 9,050 of loaded butane canisters, 17,350 empty butane canisters, a compressor, two weighing scales, three liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks and refilling tank machine.
The other evidence seized were P13,600 cash believed to be the suspects' proceeds in their unregulated trade, P1,400 marked bills used in the deal and a .45 pistol.
Suspects will be facing complaints for violating Presidential Decree 1865, which prohibits illegal selling of petroleum products, before the city prosecutor's office. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
