MINALIN -- Three drunk men were arrested by the authorities for allegedly attacking police officers, who are manning a checkpoint.
One of the suspects identified as Joseph Yabut, 47, allegedly threw empty beer bottles in front of the mobile patrol, which hit the pavement and the front of the service vehicle.
Police Senior Inspector Alejandro Sagum, together with Police Officer 1 (PO1) Jonathan Quintino and PO1 Christopher Rivera, immediately stepped out of the police patrol to neutralize the suspect.
But Yabut and his two companions Niño Emmanuel Yabut, 22, and Elton Bocar, 25, assaulted the police officers and started a commotion, which prompted the authorities to arrest and bring them to the station.
While onboard the mobile patrol, Joseph Yabut allegedly even grabbed the service gun of Sagum but was prevented by the officer.
The suspects are now under the custody of Minalin Police Station for investigation.
