THREE inmates of Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area (MBDJ-Sica) at Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City escaped Sunday morning, June 4.
Chief Inspector Jonairy Sitchon, MBDJ-Sica jail warden, confirmed the incident Sunday, but allowed the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Negros Island Region (BJMP-NIR) to provide specific details about the incident.
The fugitives were identified as Marlon Molina, 38, Ebson Jaen, 36, and Noli Dega, 39.
Molina is charged for robbery and carnapping while Jaen and Dega are facing drug charges.
Investigation showed the three inmates were hanging their clothes after doing the laundry when they noticed a chance to escape.
They climbed the wall and jumped to the other side. However, an outsider saw them and called the attention of the jailers.
Of the three escapees, Jaen was recaptured just outside the jail while the two other inmates remain at large.
Jaen was brought to a hospital after he sustained bruises when he fell during his escape.
The BJMP-NIR will subject the jail guards on-duty to an investigation.
