SOME 30 runners will test their endurance in the Davao Ultrarunners Club (DUC) 300, a grueling 300 kilometer race, on August 3 to 6 from Butuan City to Davao City.
DUC vice president Jonathan Pido, in a Facebook chat with VoxPop Davao, said this is going to be a tough race for the runners all over the country, adding runners from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao who joined the DUC 260K last year will participate in this year's edition.
"This event is also in line with the celebration of Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC)'s 100th year anniversary," Pido said, who cited SPMC chief of clinics Dr. Ricardo Audan to be one of the race consultants.
Pido, who will also compete in the race, will represent Mindanao.
"I will run in this event and will try to survive," he said.
Other categories entered are SPMC 100K and DUC 50K.
Registration fees for the early birds are P6,800 (DUC 300K), P1,800 (SPMC 100K) and P1,400 (DUC 50K) inclusive of a race bib, event shirt, buckle, trophy, medal, certificate. and meals.
