A TOTAL of 48 persons were apprehended in police checkpoints for various violations in relation to the implementation of Republic Act 4136 or Land Transportation and Traffic Code as part of security and public safety measures for the 38th MassKara Festival in Bacolod City.
The Task Force MassKara is strictly enforcing the “no plate, no travel” policy during the festival’s highlight week until October 22.
Of the total number, 17 have expired driver’s licenses, four have expired vehicle registrations, 10 have no official receipts for their motorcycles, and five committed other offenses.
Sixteen were arrested for open pipe muffle of their motorcycles.
Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, public information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said on Wednesday, October 18, that violators were not just motorcycle drivers but also those who drive four-wheel vehicles.
Task Force MassKara continued to remind motorists to bring with them all pertinent requirements to avoid delay in their travel.
Also, the police appealed for the public's continued understanding and cooperation.
