FIVE students from Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku (MKD), together with the other six students from Luzon, have been accepted by the National Youth Commission of the Philippines to be part of this year's Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (Jenesys) Program.
Students from MKD who were accepted to join the program are Ma. Theresa Camell Cozo, Quessy Faye Angeline Intrepido, Sang Ah Lim, Honey Shayne Gildo, and Jana Mikaela Albino.
The Jenesys program will run from September 19 to 26 in Tokyo, Japan. Jenesys is one of Japan's International Cooperation Center's platform, which aims to strengthen Japan's relationship with the other countries worldwide, through understanding various and colorful cultures of each countries.
It is fully supported by the Japanese Government wherein the expenses in Japan are all shouldered by the government.
This year's theme is "What the Youth in Asean Member States and Japan Can Do For Future Peace and Prosperity."
There will be a total of 110 youth participants and 11 supervisors from the Asean members states. They will be divided into four themed group, which will discuss natural disaster, economic development, environmental problems, and social activities in community. Delegates from MKD expressed their excitement in attending this life-changing conference and to witness the Land of the Rising Sun with their own eyes.
