THE dream of landing a job in South Korea is now one step closer for some 56 people who finished the Provincial Community-Based Korean Language Tutorial Program in Porac town.
The program was made possible through the efforts of Vice Mayor Dexter David and his sister, Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon. It also involved the support of Mayor Condralito dela Cruz and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda.
The program involved more than 25 contact days of training, after which they were given certificates of completion and received P3,750 training allowance from the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
David said the program this year is the third of two previous language training programs.
The program aims to give the beneficiaries free Korean language training to enable them to grasp some of the basics of the language for possible employment abroad.
David said that those who completed the program would only need to undergo testing to fully qualify for the next stage of employment.
Since its inception, the program was able to graduate more than 100 trainees, some of whom have landed jobs in South Korea.
David thanked Pineda for supporting it. He said there will also be massage training courses to be offered in the coming weeks along with training courses on how to operate heavy equipment.
The trainings are open to locals of the town who would like to acquire skills for possible employment.
