THE fifth leg of the 2016-2017 Smart Blue Knights Track League Season 3-PSC Weekly Relays will get underway on January 21, 2017 at the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDu) Fr. Martinez Sports Complex track oval in Matina, Davao City.
Track league director and AdDu athletics coach Airnel Abarra, in a Facebook chat with VoxPop Davao, said they expect around 20 teams to register in the annual trackfest, adding that teams from Maguindanao and Basilan may also join.
“Posible silang sumali, pero usually kasi one to two weeks before ng competition pa lamang malalaman (It’s possible that they will join, but it usually takes one to two weeks before the competition before we will be certain),” Abarra said.
He also said teams who joined from the first to fourth legs will compete including Sto. Tomas National High School, Doña Carmen Denia National High School, Crossing Bayabas National High School, Hagonoy National High School, Anthony and Mark Cavanis Elementary School, Calinan National High School, University of Mindanao, Rizal Memorial Colleges, St. Alexius College, St. Paul College of Davao and host AdDu.
Categories entered are men and women seniors (17 above), boys and girls youth (13-16), boys and girls kids (11-12).
Abarra, however, said they plan to hold the awarding rites in March after the final leg in February.
