THE seventh Davao Urban Fighting Championship (DUFC) Fight Night will unfurl Saturday, November 19, I.Flex Gym in Maa, Davao City.
DUFC assistant tournament manager Brian Temple bared this in Thurday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at The Annex of SM City Davao.
Temple said participants will vie in four weight divisions - 120 pounds (lbs), 125 lbs, 130 lbs and 140 lbs, adding that the fight night will feature 12 mixed martial arts (MMA) fights including the main and co-main event.
The main event will pit Ruben Lanaza of AXC against Pepito Masangkay of I.Flex Spartam while George Gonzales of AXC and Idelberto Cuquia of I.Flex Spartam will see action in the co-main event.
"The rest of the fights ay under-card na," Temple said. Boxing exhibition bouts will also be on hand before the MMA fights.
Temple added that the weigh-in is set Saturday morning.
He also said that the event was established three years ago with the initiative of their president Marco Tamayo who wanted to provide an avenue for out-of-school youth to improve and showcase their talents.
He added that I.Flex also hones MMA fighters in a bid to produce world champions. (ABM)
