EIGHT suspected drug personalities, including two women, were caught at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, in Lower Purok 3, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.

Suspects yielded 17 packs of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," to the operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas.

The contraband weighed 50 grams with an estimated market value of P250,000.

The operatives conducted the drug bust in a drug den.

PDEA-Central Visayas information officer Leia Albiar said the target of the operation was Jarsel Amor Destura, who was also the drug den maintainer.

The 36-year-old suspect was placed under surveillance for a month. Her name surfaced after the suspected pushers caught in previous operations mentioned her name.

Destura reportedly can dispose of 50 grams of shabu per week.

Mary Rose Caparida, 23; Arwin Montesclaros, 39; Edmund Beldad, 47; Murli Mark Gangram, 30; Jemedel Purisima Jr, 37; Donald Joseph Puerto, 24; and Harold Agravante, 34, were caught inside the drug den.

Suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
