DAGUPAN CITY -- A total of 98 families comprising of 347 individuals have been evacuated from three villages of Dagupan since Saturday night due to rising floodwaters caused by heavy rains triggered by Typhoon Karen.
A report coming from the Incident Command Post of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) at City Museum as of 8:30 a.m. Sunday showed there were 23 families composed of 93 individuals who were preemptively evacuated at dawn from flooded Sitio Fisheries and Claveria Road in Barangay Malued.
All these were evacuated to the Dagupan People's Astrodome, where they are now being attended to by the City Social Welfare and Development Office and the City Health Office.
There were also 75 families composed of 254 persons who were evacuated to the Federico Ceralde Integrated School in Bonuan Binloc.
At least 29 persons with disabilities and one staff of the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Bonuan Gueset that is close to the Lingayen Gulf were also evacuated.
The CDRRMC reported that all roads in Dagupan are still passable, except Careenan Street, which is not passable to light vehicles, with floodwaters now being two feet deep. (PNA)
