FOLLOWING the success of Abaca Baking Company (ABC) in Crossroads, Robinsons Cybergate and Paseo Arcenas in Banawa, the bakery opened its fourth branch in Ayala Center Cebu on Nov. 28, Monday.
Located on the ground floor of the Ayala Terraces, Abaca Baking Company finally brings its savory and sweet freshly made treats to Ayala Center Cebu’s shoppers. These days, farm-to-table or nose-to-tail are simply buzzwords and are all the rage in the culinary world. But the fact is, that’s what The Abaca Group restaurants have always been about since they started in 2006.
The Abaca Group has been successful because it has always anticipated what the market wants, and lately, no doubt in response to the growing number of mass-market chains in town, what people want to know is where their food comes from. With its products made entirely from scratch, the Abaca Baking Company fills that very want.
ABC in Ayala opens at 7 a.m. with a full menu similar to its main branch in Crossroads. One may want to get there just in time before its best-selling all-butter croissants, rustic breads, bagels and scones run out. With the bakery’s cozy interiors and warm lighting, it’s a welcome respite from the busy mall atmosphere. In the same vein as its other branches, ABC in Ayala will be an art-inspired space with works by Cebu’s favorite art and design studio, Happy Garaje, and featuring contemporary art courtesy of Qube Gallery.
