ABRA Representative Joseph Sto. Niño Bernos urged members of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera to continue their selfless service and dedication to duty.
Bernos was the guest speaker during 24th PNP Ethics Day. He remained optimistic that all police officers will have the same fervor to uphold the laws of our country, toward a peaceful and orderly society.
He also commended the awardees and personnel of the PRO under the leadership of the newly installed regional director, Chief Superintendent Edward Carranza, for their service.
"I hope that police officers in Cordillera will take the lead in showing the passion of law enforcement as it applies to all people," he said.
The PNP Ethics Day is an annual celebration to constantly remind and reinforce the adherence of all Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel to the PNP Ethical Doctrine, which contains the moral values to become disciplined, professional and morally upright policemen.
This year’s theme of "Serbisyong Tapat at Makatotohanan para sa Pagbabago ng Bayan" was highlighted by the awarding of P10,000 check to various community-based rehabilitation and wellness centers as beneficiaries of the 2nd RD PRO-Cordillera golf tournament conducted in December last year.
Among the recipients were the Danglas Model Project “Tokhang” with 27 enrollees, received by Denice Florence Bernos Bragas; the Jesus Reigns Ministry of Baguio City with 30 enrollees and received by Rev. Rowena Orajay; and the Moral Recovery and Spiritual Enhancement Center in Bakun, Benguet, with 179 enrollees and received by Municipal Health Officer Mary Jane Tayaben.
The event was followed by the awarding of medals to deserving police personnel for their dedication, loyalty and conspicuous devotion for having no record or violation of rules, regulations and laws as punishment or conviction or derogatory records in the service.
Awardees for the Medalya ng Mabuting Asal were Senior Inspector Mercedes Bucalen, Senior Police Officer 4 Pearly Jaene Dino, Senior Police Officer 2 Luillana Belly, Police Officer 3 Marlon Caluducan, and Police Officer 2 Scarlette Heather Mayocyoc.
Awardees for the Medalya ng Paglilingkod were Chief Inspector Reymino Paduyao, Senior Police Officer 4 Ana Marie Lopez, Senior Police Officer 4 Martin Luke Guidangen, Senior Police Officer 4 Ruff Manganip, and Senior Police Officer 3 Melvin Dumlao.
