THE Assumption College of Davao (ACD) Warriors mini division team emerged champion in the recently-concluded Gaisano Grand Cup Season 15 dubbed as "The Game of the Rising Stars” held at the Gaisano Grand Citimall Sky gym.
The Edwin Villarente-coached Warriors clobbered Matina Central Elementary School (MCES), 71-67, in the mini division championship of the longest running basketball league in Davao City.
Warriors' big three Cedric Taray, Mikaell Joseph and Adonis Cerna totalled 47 points to lead the win.
Taray and Joseph drilled in 16 points apiece while Cerna added 15 points.
Joseph was also named them most valuable player (MVP), joining teammates Taray and Joseph Macavinta along with MCES' Adlawan and Nery in the mythical five.
ACD's junior girls’ team also stamped its class in the girls division after beating Cabantian National High School in the finals.
Holy Child College of Davao (HCCD) Reds also annexed two titles as its juniors and cadets teams ruled their respective divisions.
The junior Reds beat Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings while the cadets defeated Davao Jones Academy (DJA) Spunky in their respective finals matches.
Ateneo de Davao University (Addu), meanwhile, overcame Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High Schol (DRANHS) to capture the junior division 2 title.
