THE Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU)-B routed the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU), 5-1, in their semifinals match Monday, November 7, to book a seat in the championship of the Jesuit Athletic Meet (2016) High School boys football tournament at the Ateneo de Davao High School football field in Matina.
Joshua Royce Lim, who was sidelined for quite some time due to injury, came back strong by scoring a goal in Addu-B’s victory. Other scorers were Kyron Dimaandal, Amir Andre Amaikurut, Chio Uy, and Martin Antepuesto.
Addu-B, however, expects an uphill battle when it plays Sacred Heart-Ateneo de Cebu for the title at 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 8.
The Davao City-based Blue Knights will try to pull off surprises as the team will also lean on Antonio Fagel III, Hans Banta, Gerry Pamisa, Rico Magno, Joshua de Luna, Lance Espino, Miguel Royo, Gab Leyson, Jose Lopez and Jigs Martinito.
In the eliminations, ADDU-B blanked Ateneo de Naga University, 7-0, before beating Ateneo de Iloilo, 5-1, and Ateneo de Manila University, 1-0.
