THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-South has installed 68 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of Barangay Payao in Binalbagan town.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Gloria Cañonero, who led the installation rites on Thursday, said the newly-installed ARBs received 70 hectares of landholdings formerly owned by Alfredo Lopez Montelibano Group of Farms Incorporated.

Cañonero urged the beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp) to promptly pay their taxes and land amortization to the local government unit and the Land Bank of the Philippines.

“They should not engage in illegal sale, transfer, lease or any other form of conveyance of the right of ownership, right to use, or any usufructuary right over the land acquired under the law,” she added.

The DAR assured farmer-beneficiaries of its support in organizing them in order to avail various support services from the government. (EPN)
