COMEDIAN Ai-Ai delas Alas is nominated at the 7th Queen World Film Festival in New York City.
The Kapuso star is nominated in the Best Female Actor Narrative Feature category for Louie Ignacio's 2016 film "Area".
Delas Alas will compete against German actors Karin Hanczewsk ("Lotte") and Dorothea Hagena ("Mann Im Spagat: Pace, Cowboy, Pace") and American actress Amy Redford in "Hate Crime".
"Napakagandang balitang ito sa isang Lunes ng umaga, ang ma-nominate sa isang international film festival awards ay napalaking bagay para sa akin," she said.
The comedian also thanked and congratulated Ignacio, who is also nominated in the Best Director Narrative Feature category.
"To God be the glory. Maraming salamat Lord sa lahat ng blessing na ito."
"Area" is a film about an aging woman who tries to break away from a life of prostitution in Angeles, Pampanga.
It also stars Sue Prado and Allen Dizon.
The 7th Queen World Film Festival will run from March 14 to 19 in New York City. It will feature over 80 films from different genres.
