Ai-Ai delas Alas wins another international acting award

AI-AI delas Alas has clichéd another international acting award for her movie "Area", this time at the 2017 Asean International Film Festival Awards (AIFFA).

Delas Alas won the Best Actress trophy during the award night held Saturday evening in Sarawak, Malaysia.

The actress, who was not able to attend the awarding ceremony, took to Instagram to thank everyone for her latest win.

"Maraming maraming salamat po Panginoon sa blessing na ito. Walang hanggang pasasalamat sa Iyo aming Hari at Panginoon. Thank you ASEAN International Awards for this award. No words can express my happiness and being so grateful for this prestigious award," she wrote on Instagram.

The comedy actress also thanked the production team of the movie, fiancé Gerald Sibayan, and her four children.

De las Alas dedicated her win to mothers all over the world.

"I want to dedicate this award to all the mothers sa buong mundo ito ay kwento natin mga ina... Mabuhay ang pelikulang Pilipino. To God be the glory forever."

"Area" director Louie Ignacio also won Best Director for the film.

Recall, she was hailed as Best Female Actor for same movie at the 7th Queens World Film Festival in New York City back in March.

"Area" is a film about an aging woman who tries to break away from a life of prostitution in Angeles, Pampanga.

The movie also stars Sue Prado and Allen Dizon.

Meanwhile, two other Filipino actors took home awards on Saturday evening.

Actress Ana Capri was named Best Supporting Actress for "Laut", while actor/director Ricky Davao won Best Supporting Actor for "Dayang Asu".

The film "Imbisibol" by Lawrence Fajardo also received the Best Movie Editing award.

AIFFA also hailed director Lav Diaz as recipient of the Special Honour Award for his work in "Ang Babaeng Humayo". (VoxPop Philippines)
