AI-AI delas alas is capping the year with another international acting trophy.
The comedienne was recently hailed Best Actress at the 2nd Los Angeles Philippines International Film Festival held in Carson, California.
Delas Alas won again for her independent film "Area," where she portrayed an aging woman who tries to break away from life of prostitution in Angeles, Pampanga.
The independent film was directed by Louie Ignacio and also stars Sue Prado and Allen Dizon.
This is the third time Delas Alas bagged the top acting trophy for "Area".
Earlier this year, she was named Best Female Actor for the same movie at the 7th Queens World Film Festival in New York City.
Her portrayal of a prostitute was also recognized at the 2017 ASEAN International Film Festival Awards in Sarawak, Malaysia. (VoxPop Philippines)
