Aiza Seguerra supports Charice's name change

NATIONAL Youth Commission chairperson Aiza Seguerra approves of Charice's decision to change his name to Jake Zyrus.

In a tweet, the former child star congratulated the singer and said he doesn't see anything wrong if Zyrus could express himself freely with a new name.

"Kung ang pangalan ay isa lamang hadlang sa pagpapalaya ng totoo mong pagkatao, wala akong nakikitang masama sa pagpalit nito," he tweeted.

Both Seguerra and Zyrus identify themselves as transman.

Meanwhile, the international singer thanked everyone who welcomed the changes in him with open arms.

"Nakakakilig pala talaga. I'm so happy. Thank you all. I love you. No, really, I love you," he tweeted when his name became one of the trending topics in micro-blogging site Twitter.

Zyrus added that he's forever grateful to everyone who supported his move.

"Let's just love one another. I love you all. I really do," he said.

As of this posting, Zyrus has not issued a statement regarding his music career. (VoxPop Philippines)
