NEGRENSE teen Mary Angeline Alcantara, the 2017 World Cadet Taekwondo Championships gold medalist, is seen as a future Olympian.
Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said this Thursday, September 7, during Alcantara’s courtesy visit at the Capitol Wednesday, telling the young jin to focus on her training to achieve her goal and compete in the Olympics.
Alcantara’s effort to bring honor to the province and the Philippines was duly recognized by Marañon who handed her an incentive.
The Provincial Board led by Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson also gave Alcantara a citation in recognition of her exemplary feat.
Hanah Taekwondo Gym coach Vic Feria said he is happy with the result of their preparations.
“It’s all hard work and the undying support of her parents which brought us where we are today. I also lauded Angeline for her perseverance in balancing her academics and training, he added.
