STUDENTS study to fulfill their dreams of becoming a professional someday. Before they graduate, they are taught about professional ethics and they bear in their hearts the promise to practice their professions truthfully in the future.
All of these changed when they become professionals in real life.
Their words have become like sharp knives that can cut a life, their behaviors can be likened to lunatic animals, and they become like zombies! It is a sad reality but they have lost the meaning of being a beautiful image of what a full-time professional is where one unique characteristic is to practice standard behavior, ethically.
What does it mean to be a part-time professional? Does it mean pretending to ignore ethics? Or waking up every day filled with hatred against the people and the world? Or is it about believing that one is weak if he or she decides to follow rules? Or that he or she is stronger, if one deviates from policies?
Part-time professionals are also professionals but they recognize ethics inconsistently. Sometimes, they are the best followers but most of the times, they are those who question standards and demand immediate changes to what is already existing even if the present system works best. Their principles are not for the common good but for their self-interest.
Hence, even though policies are clear, they pretend not to understand it so they can be able to demand for a repetitive explanation.
Waking up in the morning is a grace from God. But some people sleep with a heavy heart and wake up with an even heavier heart. The heart is loaded with years of anger and chronic hatred which are displaced to the surrounding people.
Even the most optimistic person can feel his or her negative vibes that can seem to turn a happy atmosphere into hell.
If you hate one person, just face him and her and say all that you want to say to her or him directly. Do not allow the wind to express it to them because you are contaminating the peaceful environment.
Following rules which you think is right is ultimately acceptable. I have high regards on people who respect rational rules. And when you think the rules are confusing, it is right to question it professionally but to do it in a sarcastic way is hilarious and unacceptable. If you do it negatively, your aim might not be to put clarity on it but to open an argument instead-a foolish act. Being a follower to what is right is never a weakness.
We are all human beings created by God and we all have our unique strengths. It is real that we cannot be perfect at all times and our decisions can sometimes be harmful to us. We sometimes choose not to follow rules just because we don’t like them without knowing that we are breaking away from what is certain.
We become so insensitive that we do not foresee that our actions have a domino effect. No one becomes a star by consistently acting like the “difficult type” but you become the all-time unfavorite of the many instead.
People would always wish to become professionals – but when they become one, they would opt to become part-timers. Tsk, tsk, tsk – will you remain to be a savage? So, play fair as it will lead you to the highest ethics. It is when we stop harming others that being ethical begins.
