ANOTHER member of the notorious Alex “Rondoy” Barredo robbery group was arrested at Doña Juliana Subdivision, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City Monday night, October 9.

Personnel of Police Station 6 collared Rodio Tico, 30, of Purok Sunrise, in the said village by virtue of an arrest warrant for robbery issued by Judge Montano Medel Jr. of Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 2.

The court set a bail of P12,000 for his provisional liberty.

Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 6, said Tico was arrested near his house around 11:45 p.m.

The suspect also yielded nine sachets of suspected "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride), an improvised tooter, and a lighter.

He will be charged for violation of Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and Section 12 (possession of druig paraphernalia) of Republic Act 9165.

Sedel said Tico admitted that he is part of the group involved in hold-up incidents in the cities of Bacolod, Talisay, and Silay last month.

He added that Tico stopped his activities after Barredo was arrested in a stake out operation on 13th- Lacson Streets in Barangay 7 last October 2.

Barredo was charged for violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban, RA 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Regulation Act, RA 9516 for illegal possession of explosives, and RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police recovered from him a .38 caliber revolver and five ammunition, a hand grenade, and three sachets of suspected shabu.

Barredo is also facing robbery charges.

Also arrested were two of their group members Teddy Mar Carmona, 27, and Jomar Vargas, 35, in a drug raid at Purok Pilit, Barangay 6.

Sedel said Tico was also involved in stealing of motorcycles with Barredo’s group.

Also served with the same arrest warrant was Eugenio Acosta of Barangay Taculing for robbery.

Acosta was previously arrested for robbery incident, but is not part of Barredo’s group.
