THE personnel of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office were given recognition for meritorious performance that led to the arrest an alleged cyber den operator and rescue of two minors in Zamboanga City.
Awarded efficiency medal (Medalya ng Kasanayan) were Chief Inspector Joel Tuttuh, Regional Anti-cybercrime chief, Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Charlene Nabua, PO3 Mary Grace Francisco, PO2 Art Binas, PO1 Art Josef Valdez, and PO1 Jenny Ian Kalayakan.
Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said their exemplary performance resulted to the arrest of Eric Acain alias Madam, 40, an alleged cyber den operator, and the rescue of two minors.
Acain was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of serving of search warrant on August 26 in the village of Ayala, west of Zamboanga City.
Confiscated from Acain’s residents were 11 units of computers, 11 units cellular phones, six units laptop computers, seven Wi-Fi modems, internet cables, one hard drive, and a pocket Wi-Fi.
Beltran the awardees’ exemplifying sterling leadership qualities and epitome of a true and dedicated public servant have earned honor and prestige, worthy of praise and emulation not only by their peers in particular but the Philippine National Police in general.
The awarding of medals was held after the flag ceremony on Monday, September 11, at Camp Romeo Abendan that houses the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula headquarters in the village of Mercedes. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
