THE City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Cadac) is conducting a three-day seminar workshop on the revitalization of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (Badacs) in Zamboanga City.
Participated by Badac representatives from the 98 villages, the activity, set from May 3 to 5, includes discussions about the anti-drug campaign dubbed “Double Barrel: Reloaded” of the Zamboanga City Police Office, drug clearing operations of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency including the specific roles of the barangays, the national and regional drug situation and trend of illegal drug trafficking.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, who chairs the Cadac, said the seminar workshop is being conducted in partnership with the City Department of Interior and Local Government and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The City Health Office discussed the synchronized drug rehabilitation plan or interventions for drug surrenderers by various agencies.
The conduct of the seminar workshop on the revitalization of Badacs was based on an instruction issued by Salazar during the maiden meeting of the reconstituted Cadac in a bid to ensure a holistic anti-drug campaign in the city. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
