APALIT -- More than 2,000 residents of this town on Thursday, August 11, expressed gratitude to Governor Lilia Pineda for giving them free access to medical care during the PhilHealth card distribution held at the municipal hall grounds.

Under the “Alaga ka, para sa Maayos na Buhay”, a flagship medical program of Governor Pineda, a total of 2,759 Apaliteños received PhilHealth member data records in two separate distributions both attended by the lady governor.

During the distribution, Mayor Peter Nucom extended the deep appreciation of the recipients for the constant assistance given to them by the Provincial Government.

“We are thankful to our Governor Nanay for always remembering Apalit and the Apaliteños. She never ceases to give programs to uplift the lives of every Apaliteño, and also supports the projects of the local government aimed at further developing our town,” he said.

Nucom also lauded the efforts of the governor to personally join the distribution program to meet and inform the recipients of the advantages of having the PhilHealth cards.

During her speech, Governor Pineda told beneficiaries to not be afraid of using their cards when needed as it is absolutely free.

“Libre ito, gamitin ninyo. Magpacheck-up kayo, magpagamot kayo para maiwasan natin na lumala pa ‘yung sakit imbes maagapan na,” she said.

During the distribution, Governor Pineda was accompanied by board members Rosve Henson, Fritzie David-Dizon, Pol Balingit, Gerome Tubig and Nelson Calara, Vice Mayor Gus Manlapaz and Sangguniang Bayan members.
